Why do we keep Pentecost, or Shavuot?

Millennium when sin will finally be dealt with after Satan is let loose for the final time.

As we draw closer to Shavuot, Pentecost, I want to ask you a similar question. Why do we keep Pentecost, or Shavuot?

Most teachings on that weekend will be about the giving of the Law and the Ten

Commandments at Mount Sinai and how Yehovah Himself shouted these very words down to the Israelites who heard Him speak.

Exodus 19:15 And he said to the people, “Be prepared by the third day. Do not come near a wife.” 16 And it came to be, on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain. And the sound of the ram’s horn was very loud, and all the people who were in the camp trembled. 17 And Mosheh brought the people out of the camp to meet with Elohim, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 18 And Mount Sinai was in smoke, all of it, because Yehovah  descended upon it in fire. And its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and all the mountain trembled exceedingly. 19 And when the blast of the ram’s horn sounded long and became louder and louder, Mosheh spoke, and Elohim answered him by voice. 20 And Yehovah  came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And Yehovah  called Mosheh to the top of the mountain, and Mosheh went up. 21 And Yehovah  said to Mosheh, “Go down, and warn the people, lest they break through unto Yehovah  to see, and many of them fall. 22 “And let the priests who come near Yehovah  set themselves apart too, lest Yehovah  break out against them.” 23 And Mosheh said to Yehovah , “The people are not able to come up to Mount Sinai, for You warned us, saying, ‘Make a border around the mountain and set it apart.’ ” 24 And Yehovah  said to him, “Come, go down and then come up, you and Aharon with you. But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to Yehovah , lest He break out against them.” 25 And Mosheh went down to the people and spoke to them.

Exodus 20:1 And Elohim spoke all these Words, saying, 2 “I am Yehovah  your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of slavery. 3 “You have no other mighty ones against My face. 4 “You do not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of that which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth, 5 you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, Yehovah  your Elohim am a jealous El, visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands. 7 “You do not bring the Name of Yehovah  your Elohim to naught, for Yehovah  does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught. Footnote: 1Or lift up, or take. 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart. 9 “Six days you labour, and shall do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath of Yehovah  your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. Footnote: 1There are other Sabbaths, but this is the weekly Sabbath. 11 “For in six days Yehovah  made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore Yehovah  blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart. 12 “Respect your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged upon the soil which Yehovah  your Elohim is giving you. 13 “You do not murder. 14 “You do not commit adultery. 15 “You do not steal. 16 “You do not bear false witness against your neighbour. 17 “You do not covet your neighbour’s house, you do not covet your neighbour’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, or whatever belongs to your neighbour.” 18 And all the people saw the thunders, the lightning flashes, the sound of the ram’s horn, and the mountain smoking. And the people saw it, and they trembled and stood at a distance, 19 and said to Mosheh, “You speak with us and we hear, but let not Elohim speak with us, lest we die.” 20 And Mosheh said to the people, “Do not fear, for Elohim has come to prove you, and in order that His fear be before you, so that you do not sin.” 21 So the people stood at a distance, but Mosheh drew near the thick darkness where Elohim was. 22 And Yehovah  said to Mosheh, “Say this to the children of Yisra’el: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from the heavens.

How awesome that would have been to actually have been there and to have heard His voice. What a day that must have been? But even so they all still sinned after hearing the very voice of Yehovah and after seeing all the miracles in Egypt and the Red Sea. What a time to be alive when this took place?

Others will be teaching you about the New Testament event that took place on this very same day, the fiftieth day.

Acts 2:1 And when the Day of the Festival of Weeks had come, they were all with one mind in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from the heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and settled on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Setapart Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them to speak. 5 Now in Yerushalayim there were dwelling Yehud’im, dedicated men from every nation under the heaven. 6 And when this sound came to be, the crowd came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying to each other, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8 “And how do we hear, each one in our own language in which we were born? 9 “Parthians and Medes and Eylamites, and those dwelling in Aram Naharayim, both Yehudah and Kappadokia, Pontos and Asia, 10 both Phrygia and Pamphulia, Mitsrayim and the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Yehudim and converts, 11 “Cretans and Arabs, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great deeds of Elohim.” 12 And they were all amazed, and were puzzled, saying to each other, “What does this mean?”

Another awesome event and another great time to be alive and to have witnessed all the events that led up to this would have been excruciatingly sad and exciting.

Even though these two awesome events took place on this day of Shavuot and have huge value to them, the people of that time will one day rise from the dead and will want to talk to you about the events that are taking place now. Are you ready to sit down and explain to the Apostles what happened after they died. Or to share with the prophets exactly what their words meant.

Jeremiah tells us of a greater Exodus than the first one that occurred.

Jeremiah 16:14 “Therefore see, the days are coming,” declares Yehovah , “when it is no longer said, ‘Yehovah  lives who brought up the children of Yisra’el from the land of Mitsrayim,’ 15 but, ‘Yehovah  lives who brought up the children of Yisra’el from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I shall bring them back into their land I gave to their fathers.

Jeremiah 23:6 “In His days Yehud’ah shall be saved, and Yisra’el dwell safely. And this is His Name whereby He shall be called: ‘our Righteousness.’ 7 “Therefore, see, the days are coming,” declares Yehovah , “when they shall say no more, ‘As Yehovah  lives who brought up the children of Yisra’el out of the land of Mitsrayim,’ 8 but, ‘As Yehovah  lives who brought up and led the seed of the house of Yisra’el out of the land of the north and from all the lands where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell on their own soil.” Ezekiel has something to say about this too.

Ezekiel 39:26 ‘And they shall have borne their shame, and all their trespass they committed against Me, when they dwell safely in their own land, with none to make them afraid, 27 when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of the lands of their enemies. And I shall be set apart in them before the eyes of many gentiles. 28 ‘And they shall know that I am Yehovah  their Elohim, who sent them into exile among the gentiles, and then gathered them back to their own land, and left none of them behind. 29 ‘And no longer do I hide My face from them, for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Yisra’el,’ declares the Master Yehovah .”

After witnessing the entire Egyptian army destroyed right in front of them and all of Israel saved from them, we read how the Israelites began to sing.

Exodus 15:1 Then Mosheh and the children of Yisra’el sang this song to Yehovah , and spoke, saying, “I sing to Yehovah , for He is highly exalted! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! 2 “Yah is my strength and song, and He has become my deliverance. He is my El, and I praise Him – Elohim of my father, and I exalt Him. 3 “Yehovah  is a man of battle, Yehovah  is His Name. 4 “He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea, and his chosen officers are drowned in the Sea of Reeds. 5 “The depths covered them, they went down to the bottom like a stone. 6 “Your right hand, O Yehovah , has become great in power. Your right hand, O Yehovah , has crushed the enemy. 7 “And in the greatness of Your excellence You pulled down those who rose up against You. You sent forth Your wrath, it consumed them like stubble. 8 “And with the wind of Your nostrils the waters were heaped up, the floods stood like a wall, the depths became stiff in the heart of the sea. 9 “The enemy said, ‘I pursue, I overtake, I divide the spoil, my being is satisfied on them. I draw out my sword, my hand destroys them.’ 10 “You did blow with Your wind, the sea covered them, they sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 “Who is like You, O Yehovah , among the mighty ones? Who is like You, great in set-apartness, awesome in praises, working wonders? 12 “You stretched out Your right hand, the earth swallowed them. 13 “In Your kindness You led the people whom You have redeemed, in Your strength You guided them to Your set-apart dwelling. 14 “Peoples heard, they trembled, anguish gripped the inhabitants of Philistia. 15 “Then the chiefs of Edom were troubled, the mighty men of Mo’ab, trembling grips them, all the inhabitants of Kena’an melted. 16 “Fear and dread fell on them, by the greatness of Your arm they are as silent as a stone, until Your people pass over, O Yehovah , until the people, whom You have bought, pass over. 17 “You bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O Yehovah , which You have made for Your own dwelling, the set-apart place, O Yehovah , which Your hands have prepared. 18 “Yehovah  reigns forever and ever.” 19 For the horses of Pharaoh went with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and Yehovah  brought back the waters of the sea upon them. And the children of Yisra’el went on dry ground in the midst of the sea. 20 And Miryam the prophetess, the sister of Aharon, took the timbrel in her hand. And all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21 And Miryam answered them, “Sing to Yehovah , for He is highly exalted! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!”

We are told in Revelation that those of the end time would be singing the song of Moses.

Revelations 15:3 And they sing the song of Mosheh the servant of Elohim, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, Yehovah  El Shaddai! Righteous and true are Your ways, O Sovereign of the set-apart ones! 4 “Who shall not fear You, O Yehovah , and esteem Your Name? Because You alone are kind. Because all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your righteousnesses have been made manifest.”

That Song is what Moses wrote just before he died. Please read it from Deuteronomy 31-32.

In Revelations we see there is a Re Newed song that is a song that used to be, being sung once more which used to be sung in times past.

Revelations 14:1 And I looked and saw a Lamb standing on Mount Tsiyon, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s Name1 written upon their foreheads. Footnote: 1Some texts read: having His Name and His Father’s Name. 2 And I heard a voice out of the heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder, and I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. 3 And they sang a renewed song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders. And no one was able to learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. 4 They are those who were not defiled with women, for they are maidens. They are those following the Lamb wherever He leads them on. They were redeemed from among men, being first-fruits to Elohim and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no falsehood, for they are blameless before the throne of Elohim.

Again I ask you; Why do we keep Pentecost, or Shavuot?

To help you find part of the answer I would that you now go read Pentecost Hidden Meaning then come back to read the rest of this article.

I have shown you before that Shavuot, Pentecost is tied in directly to The Jubilee Year. It is also tied into the Eight Day of the Feast of Tabernacles. Unfortunately most people are planning on how to leave the Feast and get home and checking out of where they are and never fully get the meaning of the Eighth Day. For those who want to learn more, now I am going to ask you to read another one of my early articles about Pentecost and The Eighth Day.

Having now read that article I then conclude with this paragraph;

When we count Pentecost, one to seven, seven times. And when you count seven Sabbaths you have to end up on Sunday. 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, then the 50th day signifies what? It signifies redemption, the Jubilee, the restoration of all things. The Jubilee is the eighth Sabbath. It is the same as the Eighth day of the Feast. It is the clue to unraveling the timing of the plan of Yahweh. But this is another paper titled Times Up!

The whole plan of Yahweh points to the Eighth Day when He will dwell with man on Earth. Yet our ‘Christianity’ says we wait for Jesus. The Holy Days tell us when Yahshua is going to perform certain events. These events are in stages as He prepares the Earth for when Yahweh is to return. Our Focus should not be only on the return of the Messiah, although this is a huge event. We must also be focused on the return of Yahweh, after which there is no other day because of His brightness, it will always be daytime.

Each Holy Day is showing you what will take place at that time and on that day. Each Holy Day is part of the system of cleansing the earth during these 7 millennial days in preparation for the 8th Millennial day when we will finally be cleansed and ready to dwell with Yehovah on this earth. That is the whole plan of Salvation in a nut shell right there.

Why do we keep Pentecost, or Shavuot?

Shavuot is tied into The Eighth Day, and is also tied into the Year of Jubilee. This is what these three articles are trying to say. But more so they all point to the Redemption of Mankind.

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and as the Last shall rise over the dust;

The word Redeemer is; H1350  ga’al gaw-al’

A primitive root, to redeem (according to the Oriental law of kinship), that is, to be the next of kin (and as such to buy back a relative’s property, marry his widow, etc.): – X in any wise, X at all, avenger, deliver, (do, perform the part of near, next) kinsfolk (-man), purchase, ransom, redeem (-er), revenger.

This word has a root go-el which is used in specific situations regarding the things a righteous man would do for his near kinsman;

  1. Repurchase a field which was sold in time of need, that is to buy back the property of a relative who had sold it because they were going into debt; Lev 25:25 ‘When your brother becomes poor, and has sold some of his possession, and his redeemer, a close relative comes to redeem it, then he shall redeem what his brother sold.
  2. Free an Israelite slave who sold himself in a time of poverty; Lev 25:47 ‘Now when a sojourner or a settler with you becomes rich, and your brother with him becomes poor, and sells himself to the settler or sojourner with you, or to a member of the sojourner’s clan, 48 after he has been sold, there is a right of redemption to him – one of his brothers does redeem him, 49 or his uncle or his uncle’s son does redeem him, or anyone who is a close relative to him in his clan does redeem him, or if he is able, then he shall redeem himself.
  3. Avenge the blood of a murdered close relative. The Next of kin must exact the payment of life for life. The Kinsman is the avenger of blood, called go`el haddam.

Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus said Yehovah , your Creator, O Ya’aqob, and He who formed you, O Yisra’el, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name, you are Mine. 2 “When you pass through the waters, I am with you; and through rivers, they do not overflow you. When you walk through fire, you are not scorched, and a flame does not burn you. 3 “For I am Yehovah  your Elohim, the Set-apart One of Yisra’el, your Saviour; I gave Mitsrayim for your ransom, Kush and Seb’a in your place. 4 “Since you were precious in My eyes, you have been esteemed, and I have loved you. And I give men in your place, and peoples for your life. 5 “Do not fear, for I am with you. I shall bring your seed from the east, and gather you from the west. 6 “I shall say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth – 7 all those who are called by My Name, whom I have created, formed, even made for My esteem.”

Do you grasp what is being shown to you here?

Yehshua is going to repurchase the land, which is the Land of Israel. He is also going to free you from captivity which is what you will find yourself in when He comes, and He is also going to avenge the death of those Israelites that will be killed by the Beast power at this end time. And all of this is going to happen while you are being gathered from all four corners of the earth.

One of the names Our Yehovah is called is Redeemer. Haggo El

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and as the Last shall rise over the dust; 26 and after my skin has been struck off, then in my flesh I shall see Eloah,

Isaiah 41:13 “For I, Yehovah  your Elohim, am holding your right hand, saying to you, ‘Do not fear, I shall help you.’ 14 “Do not fear, you worm Ya’aqob, you men of Yisra’el! I shall help you,” declares Yehovah  and your Redeemer, the Set-apart One of Yisra’el.

Isaiah 43:14 Thus said Yehovah , your Redeemer, the Set-apart One of Yisra’el, “For your sake I shall send to Bab’el, and bring them all down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships. 15 “I am Yehovah , your Set-apart One, Creator of Yisra’el, your Sovereign.”

Isaiah 4:6 “Thus said Yehovah , Sovereign of Yisra’el, and his Redeemer, Yehovah  of hosts, ‘I am the First and I am the Last, besides Me there is no Elohim.

Isaiah 44:21 “Remember these matters, O Ya’aqob, and Yisra’el, for you are My servant! I have formed you, you are My servant, O Yisra’el, do not forget Me! 22 “I shall wipe out your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a mist. Return to Me, for I shall redeem you.” 23 Sing, O heavens, for Yehovah  shall do it! Shout, O depths of the earth! Break forth into singing, O mountains, forest, and every tree in it! For Yehovah  shall redeem Ya’aqob?, and make Himself clear in Yisra’el. 24 Thus said Yehovah , your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb, “I am Yehovah , doing all, stretching out the heavens all alone, spreading out the earth, with none beside Me, 25 frustrating the signs of the babblers, and driving diviners mad, turning wise men backward, and making their knowledge foolish, 26 confirming the word of His servant, and completing the counsel of His messengers, who says of Yerushalayim, ‘Be inhabited,’ and of the cities of Yehud’ah, ‘They shall be built, and her ruins raised up by Me,’ 27 who is saying to the deep, ‘Be dry, and your rivers I dry up,’ 28 who is saying of Koresh, ‘He is My shepherd, and he completes all My pleasure, even saying to Yerushalayim, “Let her be built,” and to the Hek’al, “Let her foundation be laid.” ’

Isaiah 47:4 Our Redeemer, Yehovah  of hosts is His Name, the Set-apart One of Yisra’el.

Isaiah 48:17 Thus said Yehovah , your Redeemer, the Set-apart One of Yisra’el, “I am Yehovah  your Elohim, teaching you what is best, leading you by the way you should go. 18 “If only you had listened to My commands! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. 19 “And your seed would have been like the sand, and the offspring of your inward parts like the grains of sand. His name would not have been cut off nor destroyed from before Me.

Isaiah 49:7 Thus said Yehovah , the Redeemer of Yisra’el, their Set-apart One, to the despised , to the loathed One of the nation, to the Servant of rulers, “Sovereigns shall see and arise, rulers also shall bow themselves, because of Yehovah  who is steadfast, the Set-apart One of Yisra’el. And He has chosen You!”

Isaiah 49:25 Yet thus said Yehovah , “Even the captives of the mighty is taken away, and the prey of the ruthless is delivered; and I strive with him who strives with you, and I save your children. 26 “And I shall feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, and let them drink their own blood as sweet wine. All flesh shall know that I, Yehovah , am your Saviour, and your Redeemer, the Elohim of Ya’aqob.”

Isaiah 54:5 “For your Maker is your husband, Yehovah  of hosts is His Name, and the Set-apart One of Yisra’el is your Redeemer. He is called the Elohim of all the earth. 6 “For Yehovah  has called you like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, like a wife of youth when you were refused,” declares your Elohim. 7 “For a little while I have forsaken you, but with great compassion I shall gather you. 8 “In an overflow of wrath I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I shall have compassion on you,” said Yehovah , your Redeemer.

Isaiah 59:20 “And the Redeemer shall come to Tsiyon, and to those turning from transgression in Ya’aqob,” declares Yehovah . 21 “As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” said Yehovah : “My Spirit that is upon you, and My Words that I have put in your mouth, shall not be withdrawn from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” said Yehovah , “from this time and forever.”

Isaiah 60:15 “Instead of you being forsaken and hated, so that no one passes through you, I shall make you an everlasting excellence, a joy of many generations. 16 “And you shall drink dry the milk of the gentiles, and shall milk the breast of sovereigns. And you shall know that I, Yehovah , your Saviour and your Redeemer, am the Elohim of Ya’aqob.

Isaiah 63:16 For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Yisra’el does not recognize us. You, O Yehovah , are our Father, our Redeemer – Your Name is from of old.

Jeremiah 50:33 Thus said Yehovah  of hosts, “The children of Yisra’el were oppressed, along with the children of Yehud’ah. And all who took them captive have held them fast, they refused to let them go. 34 “Their Redeemer is strong, Yehovah  of hosts is His Name. He shall strongly plead their case, so as to give rest to the land, but unrest to the inhabitants of Bab’el.

Why do we keep Pentecost, or Shavuot?

Shavuot is the time when we, those who are keeping His Torah, not adding to it, nor taking away from it, but those who are striving to walk out this Torah Walk, will be collected if we are dead or alive to join with Yehovah in His kingdom. We will be redeemed, paid for and brought back from captivity by Yehovah and those who have been hurt, will be avenged by Yehovah the Redeemer of Israel.

Here is what the Apostle Paul had to say on about this day;

1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Master, that we, the living who are left over at the coming of the Master shall in no way go before those who are asleep. 16 Because the Master Himself shall come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of a chief messenger, and with the trumpet of Elohim, and the dead in Messiah shall rise first. 17 Then we, the living who are left over, shall be caught away together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air – and so we shall always be with the Master. 18 So, then, encourage one another with these words.

This is what the wave offering means, it is those Saints since Yehshua rose from the grave, that have died and those Saints who will be alive when He comes; all of these will be raised up on the Feast of Shavuot as the wave offering is done during this time.

All of this takes place on this Day on Shavuot in the near future; that is why we keep this day Holy. It is such an awesome day to look forward to. This is one appointment with Yehovah you do not want to miss.
