What is a dew?
YHVH says in Hosea 14:5, ” I will be as the dew (H2919) unto Israel : he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon”.
Brown Driver Biggs Definition: dew, night mist.
Strong’s Definition: dew (as covering vegetation).
This is mostly found covering the plants in the mornings.It is a symbol of the holy spirit.
It was manifested on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2.
Acts 2:1 “And when the Day of the Festival of Shaḇuʽot had come, they were all with one mind in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from the heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and settled on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Set-apart Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them to speak.
So the holy spirit is a gentle power and came come as a still voice.
One fine day Jacob sat on the sand somewhere in Egypt and blessed Joseph:
Genesis 27:28 saying,”And Elohim give you of the dew of the heavens, of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine. 29 Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be master over your brothers, and let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be those cursing you, and blessed be those blessing you!”
That equates to the words of the psalmist likening dew to OIL in verse 1 below:
Psalms 133:1-3 “See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity – 2 Like the precious oil on the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aharon, Running down on the collar of his robes – 3 Like the dew of Ḥermon, That comes down on the mountains of Tsiyon. For there יהוה commanded the blessing, Life forever!,”
The Holy Spirit is powerful and essential in a believer.
Isaiah 40:28-31,”Did you not know? Have you not heard? The everlasting Elohim, יהוה, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men stumble and fall, 31 but those who wait on יהוה renew their strength, they raise up the wing like eagles, they run and are not weary, they walk and do not faint”
Giving it freely to Whomever He wants.
Isaiah 58:10-11 “you extend your being to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted being, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness be as noon. 11 “Then יהוה would guide you continually, and satisfy your being in drought, and strengthen your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail”.
Dew may not be found because of cloud* cover. It comes due to the warmness of the night. So is the Holy Spirit.
*clouds may be a picture of sin. And a clear sky may portray the unbroken communion with YHVH.
Thus the hotter the trials and temptations, the more abundance of favor comes from Heaven like the morning Dew.

He Giveth More Grace
by Annie J. Flint
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
May Shalom be Multiplied to you.
